Tax Facts is a one-year project funded by HMRC to the value of £20,000. Based in Birmingham, it aims to increase the take up rate of HMRC products within Black and Minority Ethnic groups (BAME) and hard to reach groups. FRF activities in Birmingham include delivering ten tax awareness and take-up seminars within faith and community centres. It also provided 12 drop in surgeries held once a month in Birmingham over a twelve month period. The project provided support for new HMRC customers to encourage individuals to take up of HMRC products. Measurable outcomes include:
- 10 participants taking up Child Trust Funds
- 10 participants taking up Working Tax Credit
- 10 participants taking up Child Tax Credit.
- 10 participants Gift Aid.
