FRF Bereavement Hub:

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All, FRF set up its first pilot Bereavement Hub to tackle the various bereavement challenges among the Tower Hamlets community during the pandemic. The overall goal is to assess the need of a bereavement hub at the heart of Tower Hamlets and understand how the community (majority being Muslims) can benefit from the emotional support that is offered through such a hub.

We are providing the following support:

(i) 1:1 case work to assess client’s bereavement and support them through emotional support

(ii) Information, Advice and Guidance on how to access bereavement payments, housing, living cost crisis, funerals etc.

(iii) Engagement with mosques in Tower Hamlets to encourage them to provide sermons on Bereavement and direct them to our services

We believe that through this project we can support 30 individuals in Tower Hamlets to overcome trauma that has arisen from COVID19, bereavement and other forms of emotional distress.
